The Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion (EMHCs) are lay ministers who assist the priest in the distribution of the Body and Blood of Christ to the faithful at Mass.
All ministers of Holy Communion should demonstrate the utmost reverence for the Most Holy Eucharist through their demeanor, attire, and the manner in which they handle the consecrated Hosts or Chalice.
Extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion should receive adequate spiritual, theological, and practical preparation to fulfill their role with knowledge and reverence.
At Holy Family, EMHCs are scheduled at least once a month and can select the Mass for which they are scheduled.
